hi, im thinking about adding a lamraks angel to my reef tank that will have clams, shrimp, starfish, sps, lps, and softy corals in it and i have a few Q's.

1. wht is a lamarks angel most likley to pick at corals wise
2. will they pick on inverts
3. i will have chromis, fariy wrasses, firefish and a few other very docile fish that i have heard that they can pick on, most of them are already in my tank so do u think that will still be a problem even tho my very docile fish (chromis, firefish, and fairy wrasses) have territory already or will it still be a big issue
4. would u add one to ur reef tank
5. if u have had or have one now wht are your experiences with them.

ANY OTHER ISSUES OR COMMENTS ON THIS FISH WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED CAUSE IDK WHT TO DO HAHA

thanks again

it shouldn't bother any corals it's one of the most reef safe angels out there i have one it's about 6 inches he is the meanest fish in my tank he recently killed my sohal tang that was the same size he will constantly keep all my fish in check but other than that there great fish & very hardy

I had a pair in my mixed reef for over 2 years, they got too big and I traded them in. They never picked at anything, never bothered any other fish. Great fish

My Lamark's Angel would pick at two large Wellso Brains I have. I wouldn't trust any angel with clams- and yes this is from personal experience. Lamark's is a nice fish- very hardy and active. It's a good reef candidate, just be cautious and know what you might be dealing with.

My pair were model citizens in their former reef.. I now have in a FOWLR. Don't pick or chase other fish and are very active. Great choice for nice angel

I've had mine in a reef tank for a couple of years now and its been a model citizen. Hasn't touched anything (although i don't have clams) and the only fish i've seen it be aggressive towards is a midas blenny but the midas actually started it and its not unreasonable as they utilise the same food source in the wild so its a naturally occuring arguement.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or replace this species, or any of the genicanthus angels.

ok thanks for all the rplys and o any of u guys have very docile fish such as firefish and fairy wrasses cause im kind of worried about them, even tho they have territory already in my tank but will that still be an issue

I had one that was a model citizen, didn't touch a thing until I added a Tyree Red Watermelon chalice. It did like fine dining...and the angel is no longer in the tank.

oh thats horrible thats one beautiful coral and expensive!!! did u by chance have any very docile fish such as firefish or fariy wrasses that he pick on or no???

I had a fairy wrasse (until it jumped) and some smaller blennies but no trouble between the angel and any other fish.
