Lanthanum Chloride dosing questions

Two days ago I dosed Lanthanum Chloride into a 5 micron sock. Before dosing my phosphates read about .14 on the Seachem Multitest phosphate test. My phosphates after dosing were around 0 (very yellow). Today my phosphates are reading around 0, definitely .05 or lower. I dose vodka (80 proof) and I'm on my 3rd week of dosing, currently dosing 1.1mL into a 72 gallon tank.

1. How often should I dose lanthanum chloride? I know rapid drops in phosphate aren't good, but I definitely want to keep things under control. I'm sure it depends on how much my phosphates increase, but does anybody use a maintenance dose?

2. How good is the Seachem phosphate test? I heard bad things about the API kit, and mixed opinions on the Seachem kit.

I dose LC once a month before changing out my GFO. I use the Hanna URL and it does a good enough job. I can tell by looking if po4 is climbing, more cryo red algae pops up.

Are you diluting the LaCl3? Definitely have to watch out for sudden drops, not the best thing for the tank. Did the water turn milky/cloudy at all?

I'm using one that's already diluted, it's made for aquariums (not the seaklear aquarium version). Water didn't turn cloudy at all, but it's hard to tell when looking in a filter sock.
