Large 10-11" male scribble stop eating

bullitr

broke but happy
Scars was very aggressive and eats like pig in the store eats on people hands so he is not afraid of people ( he's been there for a month with therapeutic level of copper ) so I took him home and put him on the display reef so he doesn't get stress out. Now 2 days later he still not eating and very shy. I lost 3 of my large scribble when they stop eating all of a sudden.

Nothing is harassing him in my main tank since every fish are less than half of his size. I am planning to catch him tonight and put him on my large sump and feed him clams. I even put the female scribble in the tank so he can show dominant

Any ideas other ideas?

Ya i think its best to catch him and put him in a tank where you can feed him clams/mussels in a half shell without other fish competing. Wonder if its just psychological or something else. I havent had a male scribbled angel it at least 5 years or so but the one I did have was that exact size and a crazy aggressive eater. He would even bully my emperor and other large angels. (that was the ultimate reason for me getting rid of him)

Scars eats clams in the main tank but only after I repelled the cleaner shrimp away from the clams ( this guys are king of the tank for now) wait till the male xhatch hit the main tank they might be snack.

Xhatch trigger will more than likely eat the shrimp. Although I have kept clown triggers with cleaner shrimp that were already established in the system.

I have never heard of a dealer who uses a level of copper that will cure/prevent ich or similar parasites.

This fish should have been quarantine by you, not the vendor. Even DD, perhaps the best dealer of marine fish on the planet, strongly suggests a QT regimen for all of their fish. A decent QT doesn't stress fish nearly as much as the parasites they could have. I hope this works for you, they are beautiful fish. Mine is a favorite of everyone.

Agreed... I've heard of some fish stores running a low level of copper in all tanks to mask the sign of parasites, but that's about it. It'd be too much work for the stores to run and maintain copper at the appropriate levels and run a separate tank for fish intolerant to copper...

Its a long debate but I am prepare this time. My 150 is up and running, if needed be I can transfer the fish over without stressing them out. Scars is velvet free that's all that is the most important thing for me now.

My friends are OCD about qt and they still get ick. I can do fallow and cupramine/prazipo again but will see what happen.

it seems like he doesn't like being picked on by 4 cleaner wrasses and 5 cleaner shrimp.
now he is doing well in the fowlr eating lots of clams.

the tank is over stock at the moment but some of them are going to my 435.

Maybe a bit over on the cleaning, lol

Update He starting to eat pellets and he eats off my hands for a while now.
Some fish don't like to be cleaned all the time so if the fish stop eating. make sure its not getting harass by cleaner wrasse and cleaner shrimp.
