Large Carpet Moving

I have a very large carpet nem, he has stayed put for some time but for some reason he is letting go of the glass and floating around freely until he finds his new home. This happen twice now.

Is this normal? He was fine until I changed the power heads.

There is your answer Anytime you change flow anemones can and may adjust to the new flow patterns and or flow.

I just didn't know if he was supposed to just move or what. He completely let go and was getting tossed around the tank by the new powerhead.

Agreed, its normal. They will move to where they are the most comfortable with water flow and light.

Moving carpet means not a happy carpet. You got to fix that or your tank may crash if he get to your new PH. If you have a Haddoni carper, cut down on the flow. They like lower flow situation

Make sure there are covers on the power head too.

I wouldnt go as far as saying the tank will crash due to the anemone moving. They move where they are the most comfortable. Not as a sign as the tank is crashing.

I believe Minh was pointing out that if the 'nem gets to the powerhead and gets shredded, there is a very high likelihood that the tank will crash.
