large rimless builders

I have an age rimless starfire floating glass bottom now it's 72x32x28, but I've had it for 5 years and intrested in an upgrade. I saw an elos 300xl ad after a local elos shop opened and the itch hasn't left me. That tank is 118x39x24 but for lighting I don't like the dimensions....I have a sfiligoi t5/led combo and would be getting the same style ati version but two of them.the 39 inches is just too wide for those and at 10ft 2 5ft lights is too long amd 2 4ft 2 short. I i really like the dimensions of 108x36x26 w a 24 inch water level. I would prefer 28 still but accepted no one seems to want to build 28 rimless but i just wont go below 26.any suggestions on who would build this? Reef savvy said 18 inches max and elos is 23.5 I just may break down and get the elos but I do bare bottoms and scared will see the holes on bottom if i don't stack my rock specific to the aquarium and going 23.5 on a tank that long may look short and unattractive. Anyone have a pic of a short rimless 8ft or longer to share?

Here's a pic of current

I suppose, but I'm still settling on height that would be an extra layer on top of it. I prefer the look of the glass bottom over pvc as well. When they built mine pvc was trendy on the age rimless they were building I could of gotten it but i like the glass bottom a lot better.

Wow, sooooo I'm in Dallas I'll work out the shipping and get back shortly! Haha jk...thats the nicest tank/stand I've ever seen.i wish I had less coral for all led like that mine just grow and look so much better when combined w t5 . But that kills my ability to have a great width like 48.thanks for posting that i feel like i won't have a prob w elos just have to custom order it

Oh, it's not mine. I wish!

It's an amazing project though. Just Google Elos Reef 924 or search here on RC for some more info. I think Aquarium Specialty has a thread on it.

It's a pretty amazing double laminated glass with a triple laminated glass bottom. Even mitered corners!

Should be a stunning tank!

Just too nervous to have a rimless tank...

Noticed one of my crosshatches get spooked a week or two ago and he could have easily have jumped if it wasn't covered :(

Can anyone tell me where they bought their Elos Rimless? They have them listed on their website, but according to BRS, they went out of business about a year ago and stopped manufacturing tanks. He said they were bought by another company, but wasn't sure if they started manufacturing tanks again.

I've been calling all over the place trying to find someone that retails / sells a large rimless. Most of my calls end with "Sorry, we don't sell direct, you need a dealer". Then I get the list of dealers and they all say "Sorry, we don't do custom orders and only stock smaller tanks".

This is difficult.

Elos is currently represented by Coralvue. You can contact them for a custom quote.

I went though a custom aquarium installer who ordered my custom large Elos rimless tank. PM me if you're interested in this route.

Before looking at Miracle for my 360 peninsula, Elos was my first go to since I've owned two system including the current running 160XL. Love the built quality of the Elos.
However, I'm totally disgusted by Coralvue service. My first quote was sent early June. A price was returned. I asked for more detail and even til now, I still haven't gotten the final quote and the next step. Tried calling Chris at Coralvue and only get his voicemail. This combined with previous unsucessful quote on other stuff I need from Elos, I decided not to deal with them anymore. It's truly sad to see such a beautiful product being misrepresented by bad service from Coralvue.
My new tank from Miracle was quoted 4 weeks ago and the update from last week was that the stand has been welded and the tank is to be completed in a couple weeks.

Are you planning on selling your tank boogie? If you upgrade off course. Don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm currently looking for quotes on a 72"x30-36".

I was originally wanting a peninsula but I'm very interested. I'm in north Houston and wasn't buying my tank till mid next month. Please PM me when your selling it. Thanks
