They had one of those last time I was there...about a month ago along with a fairly large Peacock and another basher type, not sure of the species. Did they have any others? Thats where I was planing on going to pick one up
they sold me a clarkii as an allardi and then only offered 50% refund when I brought it back the next day. Said if I killed them they'd give me full credit since it was within 24 hours.
Yeah, they annoyed the hell out of me the last time I went there. I bought some live rock for my mantis tank and it had aiptasia on it and since im planning on making it a reef i didnt want the rock if it was covered in those little buggers. So i wanted to return it but they would only give me instore credit. They put the rock i returned back in the LR holding tank!!! The manager or owner, I cant remember his name, always gives me attitude when I go there and I usually spend $150 - $400 when i go! Im lookin for another place now...but im not having much luck...
well, at least they gave you full store credit. That's all I asked for. But before this gets into a true rag on AC thread.
I saw an almost identical mantis, maybe a little bit larger, at Fish for You today. They are right at 101 and Hillsdale about a mile south of the peninsula side of the San Mateo bridge.
Right on, thats not to far from me! Ill have to check them out!
Let me know if you know of any other good stores around the area. I think I remember one in concord...clares or somethin...I took a red devil cichlid to them once...he was beating up my red terror cichlid and my flower horn cichlid... I remember them having alot of salt water stuff in there, but they also had a reptile section...some lizzards, snakes and turtles...
Well, Dolphin Pet Village is great but it's all the way down in Campbell. Those are the only ones I really like but I'd love to know if there are others. I visited one up in Daly City on the west side of 280. It's in the Skyline Plaza with 99 market. All feshwater mostly arrowana and discus of all sorts. Also a few large ciclids and oscars but not much. I haven't ever kept FW fish so I don't know enough to give any more details.
Fresh Water fish are good to start, but I was never satisfied with them...i got rid of my last FW tank a few months ago and im so happy its gone! hehe, cool, well ill do a bit of lookin, if I find any good shops in the area ill post them here
