what did you use to combat the higher humidity areas? I used regular paint with my last setup with no problems but I saw someones thread using expoxy paint? started me thinking (hat that) - whats best for this type of environment and surrounding areas etc. TIA

I am doing a fish room also and was recommended to use an oil based primer, then use a latex semi or glossy paint then cover that with a sealant. I am unsure still bout it though. I read one one of these threads that someone used bilge paint.

Interlux Brightside; for boats topside. Used the recommended primer, i think it was pre-kote or something like that. I then silicone sealed all the joints in the drywall (greenboard). Just did it last week, so can't tell you how well it will hold up, but I think it should do well. I followed advice of 'jnarowe' who's fishroom has been around much longer than mine.

I used Green board sheet rock then I covered my Entire fish room with FRP walls and ceiling.. I painted the floor with Epoxy paint. I also used all PVC trim for the Baseboards and door casing. The base boards are siliconed to the wall/Floor. Pretty much as water proof as you can make a room lol.. HTH Here is a old pic from my Gallery
