Large Tankers - What Skimmer You Using?

From what I have seen....yes. Two local LFS in my area. One only uses DelTec and the waters are all crystal clear. The other has a mixture of skimmers with mized results.

Jackrent Yes the Deltecs are very pricey indeed. I can say from my experiences however, that if I combined the cost of all the skimmers I used prior to the Deltec it would seem like a bargin. I really feel they are top notch but this is my opinion. You will probably get a wide variety of mixed responses for this is one of the most highly talked about subjects. Give Doug at Deltec a call sometime and he will give you the answers I think you are looking for.

I am very limited on space so I built a beckett out of my old RSB. It is probably a little bit on the small size for the tank but I get a cup of skimmate a day out of it. If I had a fish room, I would probably build a supersized CC.

I bought two old counter current skimmers and threw some mazzei 1078s on them and hooked up a t4 and viola! works great!

I would have to say i am going to run an asm g4x with recirc and gate valve mod on my 180g.

You can get an mrc mr2 cheap used on RC. Ive seen them go for $250 with the pump it needs.
