She's beautiful and I am quite honored. Her neck turned out really nice. I couldn't get the angles right so I spent the cash on the round tube. Can you post a close-up shot of the body to neck transition (shoulders)?
Love that reflector too. It looks just like the ones I got from propertyroom.com!
I eneded up getting rid of the thumb screws and going to SS hex cap screws. Those thumb screws, unless they are good quality SS, will rust in short order. I use a cordless drill and hex socket to make quick work of all the screws. get a magnet cleaner for the neck, and one for the body too.
spazz is in the process of building me a dart needlewheel 55" high, 18" diameter and should be pushing 150 schf which equals the largest bk for ALOT cheaper, i'll post pics when i recieve it, can't wait
narrow, you must have been the guy I was bidding against! haha. The property room is a great place. I'll work on the shoulders. I made a jig and I had to sit on it. It was quite uhh... umm... uncomfortable.
is it a solid piece you thermo-formed? Seems like that from your posts in the other forum. If that's the case, don't worry about a pic. I thought you might have cut and glued it up. So then my next question is how you cut it to match the square riser...I would think that would be difficult!
Only problem with propertyroom is that when items are seized, they cut the wires so like when you get a ballast, you have to put on a new cable. I ended up only getting one 1000W switchable and I bought the rest new.
I can't believe you posted the pics of my screwed up riser in that other forum... That's not my best work!
Are you kidding! That was the most amazing pioneer work ever! That has paved the way for many.
What I did was to make a wood piece the exact same size as the neck (4x4) I slid that through a square in the jig. The other side of the jig had a larger opening which matched the large body square. Heated it up and pushed it through the jig.
Very interesting. I would love to see pics of that but I know you probably didn't take any. It's tough when you don't have a camera crew like Marc!
Your skimmer turned out really well. Also note that I switched from the flat rubber I got from Aquatic-Eco to EPDM rubber from HD. That is the same compound used for most Sched. 80 bulkheads, and it works much better than the flat rubber.
Thanks for the tip! I was having a problem with it leaking. It has since plugged with salt but next time I open it up, I'll make the switch. Didn't know Home Depot had that.
Since I have height issues under my tank and wanted to keep it all in sump, I am running an ASM G3 and a Deltec APF600 both in sump. I have a very light bioload (for now) so the G3 does most of the work.
