I'm considering a 72G bowfront tank and wondered what is the largest tank one could use as a sump within the stand. I know it is 18" at the middle but not sure how shallow the tank necks down to on the sides.
currently i have a 72 bow setup by AGA. I believe the tank is 18" in the center and curves down to 12" on the ends. I custom made my own stand but i have a 30gal long as a sump/fuge. It is a pretty tight fit but it works great for me
I think you should measure . I built my stand to use a 30 but didnt make the dogone door wide enough, a 29 fit. Thers room for the30 but the door, hind site dont ya know!!
I had a 20L under my stock AGA 72 bow stand. I had to put it down through the top BEFORE the tank was placed because of the center brace. I had to break it to get it out when I upgraded to my current basement sump. I dont believe I could have fit any larger stock tank under the stand with out some serious effort.
Thanks everyone. I found an older thread were someone was able to put in a 29G sump but like you guys stated, he had to lower it form the top. This is more of a problem that I first expected and now probably pass over the bowfront. They really do look nice though.
