Larvatus off DD - anybody here get it?

HEY..., they're electric blue..., not just blue legged. They will live in a bucket for the next 12 days as I complete the tank transfer procedure.

Paranoid.

No sir that's not paranoid, that's called smart:dance:

Please post pics and a video if you can and let us know how he settles in. I'm very tempted to get one or two from Michael this week and try my luck. It will depend on what size the Meyers and Lavartus come in at.

Ok, she's acclimated and hanging out in a PVC cave. The multibar threw a bit of a fit initially, but the two have chosen sides and appear to be happy now.

I fed the tank with the special blend and some reef frenzy and didn't see much activity, but it's super early.

Lights are off for now, so no decent pictures. I might break out the DSLR tonight if I have time. Excited, she looks great!

Quick update, came home from work and noticed the larvatus breathing a little heavy. After watching the tank for a few minutes it was obvious that the Multifasciatus was being a total pain in the butt.

Hard thing to do, but it is now a sump dweller.

On the upside, when I fed the tank with both fish still in it, the larvatus picked at some of the LRS food out of the water column. I plan to feed it again tonight and will try to have my video camera ready if it decides to eat again.

ttfn - I have toddlers.

So this seems like a silly question but obviously live black worms don't work with these guys? Or really any corallivore

Things are going well so far. Particle size of the food is absolutely crucial, but I have to say, this fish is eating better than I expected to.

I think tomorrow, i'm going to try to feed cyclopeze, as that appears to be the preferred size.

Wow! A real beauty. Congrats!!
Mince up the LRF frozen. Unless Kevin was feeding it cyclops I wouldn't waste your time. Just my opinion but looking forward to more updates. Good job, Matt

Thanks guys.

I'll try to get a video of it feeding tomorrow. Mincing is going to be the key for sure, though it will definitely go after larger particles, it just struggles to keep them in.

Sounds exactly the way mine behaved.

Cyclopeeze is not the food of choice.

Definitely prefers the LRS food. I'm going to try to post a feeding video tonight, I'll be curious to see how my fish compares to yours Peter.

Mine was an issue because he didn't get to this point, that yours appears to be at, until about 3 weeks after I got him, so that put him at a huge disadvantage.... trying to fatten him up AND keep the weight on, rather than just keeping the weight on.
