lastlight's 225 reef build

Robb I have the same problem =)

Yeah can't wait to eventually get this up and running. I still need the following:

tunze 6105s
controller of some sort
lm3 doser

I'm using nearly all dry rock and seeding. I want to have it running for a while to seed and I think I can do this before I purchase the Tunze and just use return flow for a few months...

Damn it Chad, you beat me to it, I was about to mention that I think the best word to describe his setup is "CLASSY"...
Very nice build so far, can't wait to see what's next...

BEAUTIFUL BUILD LastLight!

Since you have gone first rate on everything so far I would highly recommend you get the best controller on the markey. A Profilux Controller can control your Tunzes and can also control Profilux brand dosing pumps among the many other things it can do.

Good luck,

James

I've seen my share of builds, DIY stands, etc... but without a second thought this is a very good build and possibly the best stand I've seen, period. Great job I am definitely looking forward to more!

Very nice to say the least as everyone else has already said, but I look forward to the build. You did a great job on the sumps, maybe you should have made the tank too, great looking and great job!

Thanks everyone.

I had to patch two different spots on the sump...it's definately a good thing I didn't build the tank let me tell you! The sump definitely isn't as pretty anymore. I wanted to make sure I got the two leaks so I went NUTS with the silicone. I somehow wrecked 3 t-shirts in building and patching those tanks!

I'm going to eventually stock the tank primarily with SPS so this will be a learning experience for me. Previously I had only had moderate success with softies and LPS. The important thing is the reading I have since done while having no tank. I know for a fact that my levels were pretty inconsistent from one day to the next so I'm prepared for greater success this time.

I love everything about this build. The tank, the lights, skimmer etc and not least the stand. I do envy you guys who can build stuff like this. You've made it look so easy yet the end result is outstanding.

I've been meaning to ask you, did you get all your union valves and grey pvc locally or did you order it all in from somewhere?

All my plumbing was from bulk reef supply except the black flex pvc for either end of my return and feeding my returns in the back. that was ffrom flexpvc.com
