Leak in Return Line-Barb Fitting

The barb fitting that connects my vinyl tubing to the pvc of my return has slow leak where the vinyl fits on the barbs. What can I do about this? Can I put silicone or pvc cement on the barbs? Any advice is appreciated.

have you tried a tie wrap, thats what I use.

Make sure the hose is pushed all the way down to the shoulder of the barb fitting. Then either use a zip tie between the shoulder and the last barb (or a band clamp if pump is external).
