Just did a leak test on my 110g tank. The tank itself does not leak but the overflow box does. Water seeps under the overflow box and through one of the seams near the top just below the teeth.
Question, show I take out the overflow box and reseal or don't worry about it?
if it has durso plumbing inside the box that drops thru the bottom of the tank the over flow is actually just a surface skimmer the plumbing inside the box is what controls water level..
its the box has a open hole thru back of tank with no plumbing inside the box on the inside of the tank then yes you MUST Repair.. as it will cause your sump to over flow with a power failure..
its its acrylic you can NOT Use silicon to fix it.. get weld-on 16 to fix it actually does not bond but welds the pieces together...
a image would help determine exactly what you have
I haven't decided which overflow to use. There are 2 holes in the bottom of the tank. It is a glass tank. The area inside the red is where the seam is leaking.
Ericas right, I thought it was a joint where the acrylic and glass meet. For acrylic to acrylic the weld on is better. I think it cures a lot faster too.
