Chocolate mimic would get my vote. Mine doesn't mess with anyone, but he's only 2" big.

People say orange shoulders are very peaceful. Some websites say they are worse than sohals, but I've never heard that from a keeper.
They also get very big though, and with the current tangs in your tank it might be too much. The mimic stays smaller and would probably be better.

Doctorfish, Atlantic Blue tangs, and Convicts would get my vote. Any of the Acanthurus that actually shoal in the wild, and therefore 'used to" other tangs.

I was going to say Orange shoulder as well.
I have an Orange shoulder, blue hippo, blonde Naso and a tennenti in my 180g(i know, NOT the best stocking decisions). They have been together for about 2 years and the Orange shoulder is easily the least aggressive of the group, no even close. He nevers bothers anyone, tang or otherwise.

Hmmm, convicts... they are calm singly, but if you put in 3 or 4, they become crazy. Nonstop movement and not really fighting but chasing each other plus they are so aggressive eating that even bigger and usually more aggressive fish get scared and have a hard time getting food. And I agree, convicts are timid. Dussimiers too, and olivaceous.

I had 4 in my tank a while back but I downgraded to just 1, the group of them was wreaking a little havoc in my tank.Anyway, single convict is a good calm fish.
I'd disagree with Dussumieri though, when small they might be a little nicer but mine is pushing 9" and he has turned into a real jerk to any new fish. I just added a cleaner wrasse Thursday which is 2.5" long, my dussu tried for hours to kill it, basically kept it stuck in a corner of the tank or in the rocks where the dussu cant get to it. It was tail slapping and literally just trying to bite it.

I am shock no one has mentioned the blue hippo (regal) as being the most passive. So many people buy this guy and think along those lines and I would have agreed until my 2 inch grew to 6-7 inches and tried to kill a 8-9 inch french angel that he had been living with for 2 years. He just went crazy. Just want to give a warning to others reading this thread. I have read others stating this too, about tangs reaching a certain size and just becoming a terror.

I know of a Hippo (Paracanthurus) that terrorizes a Sohal.
(Sohal is generally accpted as being the most aggressive Acanthuriid.)
I had to laugh as I was reading this thread.
I was thinking back to when I was in Hawaii and I collected all the fish for my tank. I used to catch so many darn Convict Tangs that I was literally, constantly, throwing them back whenever I went collecting.
Then I saw that guy who said he never saw one in an aquarium and I LOL'd. Sometimes I felt like Convicts were the only fish that lived in Kaneohe Bay!
Anyway, sorry for the hijack, that was just funny to me.

i have to agree with orange shoulder mine is the king of the tank(mainly because hes the biggest) and he has a blue hippo roomate that he tolerates pretty well.they do get big but the colors really stand out better when their bigger and let me tell you hes a real pig when it comes to food !!
