LED Moonlight Help

Hi there,

I just got my LED Simu-Moon in the mail yesterday. I thought I had it set up right and it Dimmed out fine at the end of the day, but for some reason the moonlights didn't come on.

The way I have it set up is Dimming point one start 900 duration 60 minutes to 100%
Dimming Point 2 Start 1030 duration 10 minutes to 0%
Dimming point 3 Start 2100 duration 30 minutes to 100%
Dimming point 4 start 2330 duration 29 minutes to 0%

Now, on the moonlight screen, I checked off I4 (for the stick) and set moonphase simulation from 000 to 859. But last night I had no moon. Did I miss a step? Moonphase is listed at 95% so I know it's not a new moon situation.

Thanks

What is your moon cycle phase at, maybe there was no moon last night or very little.

You can manually test your settings also.

Also what port do you have set for the stick.

L2 and L4 I believe to be the default, check teh manual to confirm I do not have it front of me to check for you right now

Hi there,

The stick is on L4, moonphase is 95% so there should've been lots of moon. The dimming function worked great and the light will go through the full 0-100% cycle. I'm just thinking that I'm missing something in the way I programmed it.

The light didn't come with a manual and the controller manual doesn't give me any insight as to what I might've missed.

Absolutely love the effect the stick puts out, just gotta get that moon-cycle going!

Thanks

at 95% you will see no moon, there normally has to be at least 15% cycle, you had only 5%.

The system is set to replicate nature, just think in real terms, how much light would 5% moon really give you?

Hmmm, that's wierd. Supposed to be a full moon tonight and when I hooked it up to my laptop, the little picture of the moon was just about full so I think it's supposed to be working?

Lets ignore the schedule I've got up there for a second as that's more a beginning of day/end of day fade in/out.

If I want just moonlights right now from say 2300 until 0900 and the stick is on Illumination 4, do I have to do anything in the Illumination 4 page (where I set up dimming points) or do I just go into the moon-simulation page and click on the I4 box and specify 2300 to 900?

I'm wondering if I need to have the light set to turn on at 2300 and off at 900, and then the moonphase simulator applies a REDUCTION to the light based on the moon-cycle or is the mooncycle simulator supposed to activate the light on it's own?

Illumination 4 has nothing to do with it

In 1-10V interface set up set L4 to Illumination 1 if that is not already being used, if it is just choose another one of the 8 illumination channels.

No go to that selected channel and make sure dimming is ticked

In that channel you will now set all your cycle times.

Ok I think we're miscommunicating a bit here.

L4 is set to Illumination 4 because that was the open illumination channel. It is set to dimmable and the dimming works perfectly when I try it manually or set it up as part of the light schedule. What is happening is the moonlights are not activating and I think it's in the way I'm asking the bar to do it.

So, let me ask this another way. If I want the moon simulation to turn on at 2300 and turn off at 0900 and L4 is set to Illumination 4 what commands need to be in place is it:

1)
Illumination 4 menu dim point one (start time) 2300 (duration) 30) to 100% Dim Point two (start time) 0900 Duration (30) to 0% and then go into the moonlight simulation page and click moonlight on Illumination 4 starting at 2300 and ending at 900
This one assumes that the light is told to turn on and the moon simulation alters the amount of light on that channel at that time.

2)
Leave no entries in the illumination 4 menu and just set the moonlight simulation page to illumination 4 starting at 2300 and ending at 900
This one would assume that the moon-simulation program will activate the light by itself with no input from the illumination menu.

Thanks
