I was wondering if anyone has an experience with the new LED Par 38 screw in type LED lights - such as Orphek or a couple more out there that claim to be able to grow corals in a reef tank? if so, could you share your experience. I am setting up a 50 Breeder (same foot print as a 40 breeder only 18" tall instead of 16"). I have a zoo-med slider hood used for reptiles that has 3 sockets for heaters, spots etc., and a 24" t-8 flourescent fixtures in it. Was thinking about giving them a try. I ordered one of the bulbs on ebay that has 12 3watt epistar led's. 6 Blue 6 White. It also has a remote dimmer. This thing throws off a beautiful bright 14K look. Specs say its good for reef tanks up to 24" deep.
