LED Question

I have 2 LEDs over a 48 inch tank and have been running my blues 30% all night. Is it better to turn the lights completely off at night or what? How are you doing it?

I would turn them off at night.

I turn mine down to one percent so I can get some moonlight effect

I run blues at one percent also, but go completely off after midnight. The way I see it is moonlight in the wild doesn't last all night; at least I think it doesn't.

Considering the minimal impact I expected from creating a moonlight effect I also decided to simply turn mine off at night

Depending on the fixture, even 1% blue can be far too much for moonlight (and the wrong color).

Having the blues on overnight certainly isn't doing the tank any good, so why do it? If you want to look in the tank at night, turn on 1% blue or red and turn it off when you are done, or use a small flashlight.
