Lemon peel Angel questions

Hi All - I am hoping there are some angel psychologists out there to help me out, lol. I have a lemon peel in my 90g and she is pretty aggressive. I added an exquisite wrasse about a week ago and when the poor thing would come out she would chase him all over the place. He would hide the whole time and come out quickly to eat and then hide right back. Then I added a blackcap basslet and she was doing the same thing with him, but managed to damage his tail and weaken him that it was super easy to catch him. I have since put the basslet in my 55g and he is doing great. I managed to catch the lemonpeel and she is currently in a floating breeder. She was in there for a day and the cover came off and all was fine for the first 10-15 minutes, and then she started back up chasing the wrasse. I was able to catch her and put her in the breeder again. So, here is my question....will keeping her in the breeder and letting the wrasse have free reign do anything to change the dynamic? Do I need to remove the angel completely for like a week and then re-introduce? Or do I need to sell her? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

lol most of my angels do pick on the smaller fish too, which is good cause they spend less time eating corals. I personally do not think the behaviour would change. but I could be wrong.

It's difficult to say, but I suggest you move the little rascal to another tank or sump for a few days and try to introduce again. This may be enough to calm the fish down and give a chance for the wrasse to settle.

You could also partition some of the tank with some eggcrate with the lemonpeel on one side and give it a few days to a week. This would allow the fish to acclimate to the newcomer and not cause any damage.

Angels are semi-aggressive fish, they will pick on the smaller fish, and fight to the death between each other. But, pulling it out for a week as you've stated couldn't hurt it will allow the wrasse to develope multiple hiding spots prior to the re-introduction. And as Allmost stated it is a good way to prevent coral nipping.

i had 5 lemonpeels in my 180g. one couldnt handle the aggression from the others and died. i relocated 2 into another tank. they now seem to be okay with just 2 in a tank.

I am thinking about moving her to my 55g. I have a firefish in there and the blackcap basslet which she picked on and chased all over the 90g. Since it is a completely different tank, would she behave or is there a good chance she will attack these community fish?

If the lemonpeel was going after completely unrelated fish like the blackcap basslet, its probably going to go after the firefish too, so I wouldnt put it in the 55.. IME firefish can not handle any aggression thrown their way...

I would leave it out of the main tank for a week or two, rearrange the rock if you want, and then reintroduce. But there no way to know, the lemonpeel might still go after your other fish. Another method if you have a break in your rockwork is to put an eggcrate divider in your tank to separate new introductions from aggressive fish.
