I got out of work early yesterday, and decied to stop by Exotic since I haven't been there since thier opening. Looks like they have a lot of nice looking coral now...some very impressive zoas, a HUGE red carpet, and I even saw some micro frags. They have come a long way... One of the most impressive things I saw there was what they had labeled as a leopard ray. The body was maybe a foot long, but the tail was another three feet...I'm just wondering how big do these guys get, and what size tank is needed..not that Im anywhere close to being able to get a tank big enough or the $1200 to buy it..just wondering...
If you get a chance to stop buy and look, it really is an impressive creature...

I had fun freaking out my 3YO by touching it while it was swimming partially out of the water. Poor thing needs a bigger home. I'd like to see it go into FishPlanet's 5,000g tank.

The place is insane. I can't wait to see it all setup and going. I saw the protien skimmer they will be using on the 5000 gal and it looked over 6 feet tall. Still no saltwater livestock as of last Tuesday.

They get over 4 feet across, and 12 feet long. Great animal to sell to hobbyists. That thing wouldn't be comfortable in a 10,000 gallon tank.

corner of franklin and martin luther king blvd. sorry don't have the exact address.

I was at Fish Planet on Saturday... Still no saltwater livestock. And the only thing in the 5,000 gal was a ladder. Assuming the protein skimmer was for that tank, yes it is huge! It will be exciting to see it when they get everything up and running there. That place sure is nice - I only hope they can sell enough to afford their $$$ rent + expenses. I don't know what it is but that has to be a prime retail place. Most aquarium stores are usually located in lower rent areas for a reason. Nonetheless, I wish them luck and hope all goes well.

As for the ray... It sounds like he needs a bigger home too. Didn't make it to the 'new' exotic yet. So little time - so many stores, since I no longer live in the Sac area...
