Bought a small leopard wrasse Monday . Not seen it since. Also got a cleaner wrasse who is out loads. Params are fine as are all the other livestock. I know they can be very shy at 1st. Im hoping its just gone into hiding. Any advice?

When I put my black leopard wrasse pair in my tank they hid for a week. I thought I lost them. One day I came home and there they were!

A lot of wrasses will go into hiding for a while when first introduced. Aside from that, Leopards are sort of a coin toss. People have spotty success keeping them alive long term due to their eating habits.

Hmm always wanted one. Thought id give her a try. Beautiful fish. Seen a few kept long term so got to be worth a shot.

Leopards are notorious for going into hiding. They get jet lagged and take longer to adjust to the light cycle because they sleep in the sand. It may be coming out for a few minutes at night.

When I worked at a store we had several leopards that disappears and showed up literally after a month.

People have spotty success because of ignorance I'm afraid. Leopards are not problem feeders, they're problem acclimators. They are also susceptible to internal worms so can 'appear' to not be eating in some cases. I've bought around 30 leopards over the years and have kept 24 or so longer-term. Five died quickly, and one just progressively lost weight over about 6 months and eventually disappeared. I have more trouble with flasher wrasses.

Bit gutted, haven't seen this fish still.. Been a good while. going to have to assume its dead i think. A bit concerned it way have been attacked by the red spot blenny, not seen this happen with this fish but it did attack /kill 2 previous fish (fire fish and a blue cheek goby)

I wouldn't give up hope yet. I still see my new female in the mornings for a bit and then she's gone. She comes up more frequently now, for a few hours then gets chased by the male then hides.

Remember, some of us haven't seen our fish for up to a month.
