Leopard Wrasse Question

Seems like she comes out different times during the day but for a very short time. About 5 to 10minutes. Usually before the lights go on. Haven't seen the other one yet though.

Once mine figured out when the light came on he was out more & more until he eventually was out for most of the light cycle, he still goes under the sand a little while before lights out. But hes up everyday by the time the lights come on.

Just try to get food to him when ever you have a chance. Live brine or blackworms should be a good start

That doesn't really make any sense to me, and has not been my experience with the half dozen or so of the sand diving wrasses I have kept. It would seem to me that these fish would emerge from the sand when they start to feel more comfortable with their new environment - and the sooner that happens the better IMO and IME.

Just saying what I have read all over

Good news! Saw both wrasses this morning for a good 30 mins to an hour. Both alive! and grazing the sand bed for pods!

you should be all set now the hard part is done now you can enjoy, when I put mine in my grass wrasse when in hiding for a week and he's been in the tank for a year and a half. I guess he just didn't like the company.

One thing to watch for is weight loss. Apparently a high percentage of these wrasses come in with worms that steal nutrition from the fish, so if they are eating, but getting thinner ... treatment with prazipro may be necessary.

These guys are beautiful! Cant wait until the bigger one morphs into a male! Thanks everyone for the help and advice! Ca1ore I will keep an eye out!

I will try to get a few pictures with my iphone! Probably not the best quality but its worth a shot! :D I will try to get as close to the tank as I can without scaring them too much!

Only one of them came out so far I think. The other fish always beat her to the mysis shrimp but if there are little remains that float near her she will go for it. Yellow wrasse doesnt like her too much though haha.. I thought yellow wrasses were peaceful?
