leopard wrasse

I was thinking about getting a leopard wrasse for my 75 mixed reef tank. I have a clam and various, lps, sps. i also have a chalk basslet, black perc, royal gamma, yellowhead jawfish, and sunburst anthias. any reason to worry about getting a leopard wrasse? also, are leopard wrasse effective against flatworms?

You should be fine providing you have a sand bed, which you didnt mention in your set up.

I was given a piece of coral once and after inspecting found a couple of flat worms on it. My leopard wrasse showed no interest in the flat worms. However, Ive read several posts by other aquarists who swear theirs took care of flat worms for them.

If your looking for something that will take care of your flatworms try one of the halichoeres species of wrasses. They are as striking as a leopard and not as difficult. Yellow coris, green virus, dusky, melanurus, or radiant will do the job.

Agree on a halichoeres sp. wrasse for flatworms. My yellow coris wrasse eliminated that pest population within a month in my tank.

I don't think there will be a problem between a leopard wrasse and your current livestock. However, I'd read the leopard wrasse primer thread for info on this fish. If you feel that you and your tank are ready for it, then go for it!
