I have been asked to I this odd creature. At first I thought it was a large Priapulid worm trying to dig its way into the SB but now I have extreme doubts it is that. Even though I have been ID'ing inverts for 3 decades elsewhere I'm lost here or I'm sleeping at the switch 30 some Invert books an nahtah An idea ?

As you can see the base looks like a bunch of bananas. The "arm/tentacle" , which looks like a smaller stock of bananas, which can extend out 6 " and can retract.

Yeah, I saw that and was equally mystified. Priapulid sounded good but I guess you have the same doubts I did. Tell you what, I'll send it off to a couple of others who specialize in oddball inverts & see what they say.

Yes Les, it is on Reef Sanctuary. This is the best image. It is in the center and the "arm" is retracted and sticking out a little to the right.
