I have been asked to I this odd creature. At first I thought it was a large Priapulid worm trying to dig its way into the SB but now I have extreme doubts it is that. Even though I have been ID'ing inverts for 3 decades elsewhere I'm lost here or I'm sleeping at the switch :D 30 some Invert books an nahtah :( An idea ?

As you can see the base looks like a bunch of bananas. The "arm/tentacle" , which looks like a smaller stock of bananas, which can extend out 6 " and can retract.

Yeah, I saw that and was equally mystified. Priapulid sounded good but I guess you have the same doubts I did. Tell you what, I'll send it off to a couple of others who specialize in oddball inverts & see what they say.

Didn't the guy have an enlarged pic in the orginal post? I'd like to have that to send off - get my friends intriqued enough to check out the video.

Yes Les, it is on Reef Sanctuary. This is the best image. It is in the center and the "arm" is retracted and sticking out a little to the right.
