Ok so i suppose its official since the glass has been recieved and the tank been put together,
stand is in the process of being cladded and filter will be planned soon. i have also recieved my new skimmer so im pretty sure now is a good time to start a thread on it all.
Tank: 1.5m x .800 x .650 (water level .580) out of 15mm normal float glass
Stand: 1.5 x .800x .760 out of 38 x 38 steel square tubing to be cladded out of shutterply
Skimmer: Skimz Sm202 external
filtration: No DSB, i have always thought them to be a waste of time as they can hardly ever be in the correct proportioned to properly service the system capacity suffieciently, i am considering the use of Nitrate pellets as i have a Skimz fluidised reactor i could place them in.
LR: I will seed the tank with the LR i have left, unfortunatley i had to dry allot of my old stuff out. as we moved and just dident have the place or time to try save it.
Flow: 2 x Tunze 6105 on 7095 controller set on a pulse mode, Built in wavebox to be run off of a 6055 with 7092 controller for continious ocilation.
Return: Main return pump will be a OR3500 i may upgade to a OR6500 in time im trying to get 1 pump to run the majority of the system, feed chiller, skimmer, etc etc
Lighting: Have gone T5 for my lighting this time. i have purchased an Aqua medic 8 x 54w T5 unit and im trying to select the best bulb combination..
Aim of the tank: everyone is so sps orientated and to be honest they don't appeal to me in the way they do to others, I prefer seeing the effects of flow on coral and LPS does this for me.
I intend to go mostly LPS dominated with a few softies and a few hardy sps, and a clam or 2. I would like to create a pinnacle scaping and atach my frogspawns and hammer corals to create a branching bonsai effect with a lot of swimming space for fish.
Im trying to very electricity consious this time.as juice is costly. and the wife pays for it..
i currently have all my fish in a drum in my garage and my corals in a tank there aswell. the build has been cursed with the kindness of favours that have taken some time to materialise..
i am currently waiting for my light rack out of steel to be manufactured but this and the machining of the overflow perspex has been the hold up
i currently have the following fish:
1 x Purple Tang
4 x Yellow tangs
1 x regal tang
1 x emperor angel
1 x sixline wrasse
1 x bicolor angel
Waiting paitently for their new home.
