When using an aquacontroller to control your heaters, make sure the temperature probe doesn't get pulled out of the water.
I lost nearly all of my sps and lps coral. All of my fish lived. Im not sure how. By the time I noticed my tank crashing the temperature made it up to 95 degrees.
From now on I will use a temp controller pluged into my aquacontroller as a backup so that this doesn't happen again.

So goes life... :)

ah man that sucks sorry to hear, if you make it to the narc meeting on the 4th remind me and I will make sure you go home with a few things to get started back up....

I guess if the probe was out of the water then set point would not be reached, unless outside temp hit set point.

Would the heaters with thermostats help to avoid this. If they are set to turn off at a set temp anyway then the controller should be just backup correct.

I ordered a temp controller. I am going to plug the temp controller into the aquacontroller. So if the aquacontroller fails the temp controller will not allow the aquarium to overheat and the aquacontroller wont allow the temp controller to over heat the aquarium. Im sure it is overkill but I dont want this to happen again. I came home and my 200+ head of duncans were dead. Looked ok yesterday, full of brown jelly today. 6" x 10" brain coral has brown jelly also.
