let me get this straight

well as everyone on here seems to be complaning about the selling of stuff i would like to figure out what is wrong with selling stuff. i am boostinger on saltwaterfish just to clear stuff up. we were going to keep what we wanted of the cap (me and bighack)
and then sell the rest of what we didnt want and if someone wanted buy some they could. i didnt put rediculs prices the frags were same price and the whole thing was high (75) because it is a big piece and there are alot of frags there. also do you think no lone else buys and then sell becouse of variouse resons like jsbass he has a tank that is how many miles away and he cant keep care of it so he is selling but no he cant sell it no you cant make a profit at all. i dont understand why you cant sell something for more then you bought it for. when you buy a gas from a rental service(yes i know that is a business and we arent but) the charge 50 cents a gallon more it is same thing and why would you sell on ebay. the saying buy low sell high. like i bought a snowmoblie got a great deal and im selling it im not going to sell it lower then i bougght it for just because i got a good deal. and that is the first thing i got from any1 which i didnt even get it i tryed to sell. and now you are all up on my *** geting into my busness and cousing all these problems if i try to sell something and you think it is unfair of high priced then dont buy it. its mine aand i can do what i want with it. so i just would like to know what the huge deal is if it bother you just dont sell to me i gues that is how it will have to be since i am such a bad person because i tryed to sell somthing but never have ever sold anything i got from you but i gues if it is bad to sell im sorry and would just like to know how you feel i dont want bad talking and i dont want to not be friends with all of you i joined this because i love saltwater again im sorry i broke the unwriten rule

We all love Saltwater, that is why we are here. The issue is that club members usually give other members free or very cheap deals. This is supposed to be for personal use not to sell. We can all get much more selling it online but choose to help club members instead. Many people can attest that I have given plenty of coral & fish away. If I ever catch them selling it (or a part of it) soon after giving it away it will be the last time they get anything from my tank.

Why didnt you just buy what you wanted for your tank from Robin? It looks to everyone that you were trying to make a profit. If you got too much, why not offer fellow club members a deal & pass it on?

I applaud you for actually telling the truth not like your buddies and admitting to trying to make a little cash on this.

You're absolutely 100% correct there is nothing that says you can't buy something and mark it up and resell it and make a little money on it. It's the american way! RIght?

Like Craig said though we all try and give fellow club members good deals on things to help them out and to make the hobby a little more affordable to everyone. To just purposely take advantage of that is very unethical and most of us frown on that.

Oh and by the way just in case you didn't know it IS against the copyright laws to use someone else's pictures without there permission though!

And also as Craig said if I ever found out someone was doing this to me or anyone I knew they would never be buying anything from me!

As the others have said and I posted on our website forum. I have no problem with someone trying to make a buck. H3ll I have and have had plenty of businesses related to this hobby. The problem arises when anyone is getting deals on items from other club members for lower prices out of good will. It would be like me taking a skimmer someone gave me to start my tank and then just turning around and selling it because I know I could make a quick buck. The intention of the seller/member was to help a fellow member, therefore they did not charge me or gave me a lower price than fair market value. If this good will is stepped on and trust within the group is broken there will be no more good will trading and sharing for anyone. Hope that makes sense.

this all makes sense and like i stated i have never sold anything i got lots of offers from what i was selling im sure you can all look back and see it on salt water fish but i wasnt seling anything from you guys i have a rock full of zoas i got from josh but i ended up trading it for a mh to another member bz183 and that is all i have gotten ride of and i just didnt like it the rock was a flat piece that was like 6 in by 8 inch so i really had no were to put it then there was the clowns i got from eric they were great and i got them cheap but they were attacking my there fish so they had to go it was not my choice they did it them self. i still have everything i have ever goten from any one on the site ex the rbta it was the first thing i got then the frogspawn from eric and the shrooms and i still have the green cap from glaspoie and the green slimer which is doing very well. i still have the but i just wanted to say im sorry and i didnt do it to screw any of you at all and if you took it that way im sorry but if you want proof and you know what you slod me send me a messege and ill tank a pic of it in my tank. but to give you an ex. of the skimmer deal mike the thugme gave me a uv sterilizer for free i could have put it in ebay or i think ben was looking for 1 and i could have gave it to him and made what 50 buck but i didnt i still hvae it and use it and i really appeceate(sp) it but i can see were you are coming from. i gues i never thought of it that way . i would sell something then never think about it again but this has tought me how others think and that the corals or what ever you sell they have a like love for it and feel everytime they frag somthing they are helping and what it to help not just get money so again im sorry and i understand so i hape no 1 is against me anymore and you can trust me

It is no longer a matter of personal preferance when it affects the club. How would you feel and how long would good will sharing last if a LFS employee started buying up all of the good deals through the club? Wouldn't be much fun for anyone would it?
