My mexican turbos always end up upside down on the glass... some look like they just stopped sucking and fell back... my cucumber is also moving very very slowly... hermits and shrimp are both fine..

I am battling a serious algae problem.. havent treated the tank with anything but phosban and carbon... and that was just recently.... any ideas of whats up?

I had a similar problem a while back when using a phosphate remover (don't remember which product). Some may leach chemicals into the aquarium that harm the animals, especially if you are using heavy doses.

My snails were fallling over and the shrimps were starting to show the same symptoms. They recovered (for a while) after a water change. When I stopped using the phosphate remover, the snails and shrimps no longer had the problem.

These guys were doing this before i set up the phosphate reactors they have only been up since sunday and this has been going on for a couple weeks now.

What is your calcium and magnesium levels? I notice that when those get out of whack, my snails become comatose. Especially if Ca is low.
