Let's See Some SPS Dwelling Fish!

Just wanted to see what fish live in and swim around in sps corals. Please show a pic, the fish type, and the sps type. Thanks!

Seen a show on tv last week, A school of small chromis were all in a big acro head, looked awesome! I have both in my tank and it never happen yet

In my own tank, the cardinalfish hide among the branching SPS when they're spooked, and the green clown goby actually hangs out in them. Clown gobies (especially the yellow ones) get a bad rap for nipping at SPS, but mine has never shown the slightest interest in them as anything but a place to hide and sleep.

If you have only small frags of sps, I would advise against the clown goby for the simple fact that if it does nip, it will be able to nip all over the frag in no time. Larger colonies can take the nipping.

Also, some people don't like clown gobies because they say they cause poor PE from perching on the branches.

My chromis occasionally sleep/dart through a huge birdsnest i have. Flame hawk fish like to perch on sps.

I've never had any trouble with my little guy. The montis got used to him perching in them pretty quickly; now, even the polyps in the section that he's sitting in don't withdraw. I wonder if it also helps that they're not acros (the natural host). I may just have gotten lucky.

Well it seems like chromis, some damsels, cardinalfish, and some gobies are all good candidates.

What type of cardinalfish are you keeping that swim in sps?

I think I was wrong with saying basslets, I thought about it and I believe it's some anthias, and I am leaning towards the squamipinnis.

my blue tang made its home in my large bottlebush acro and as it has grown it now has to back his big butt in lol

I keep threadfin and pajama cardinals. They shoal (the threadfins even more so) and use the branching SPS (digitata, confusa) for shelter.

+1 for blue tang. my baby hippo lives in my biggest milli.

Great, I was thinking of getting a group of pajama cardinals and green chromis so hopefully they'll both do well when my tank is set up.
