Lets see the Deep Blue Shallow Tanks

Hey everyone,

I am looking to get a Deep Blue Rimless 80 tank, I wanted to get some ideas as to what other people think about these.

I'm hoping to set it up as a penninsula tank so i can utilize both sides of the rock work. I plan to have mostly SPS and Zoas, and a few special LPS mixed in for now.

I was also planning to put both my MP40's on the side with the corner overflow in hopes to keep the end of the tank free of equipments. Anyones see any issues with that? I plan to keep the rockwork someone low to the sand bed with a few peaks but nothing crazy that will block flow.

I will be using some leftover equipment from my previous tank. I have an 8 bulb tech light, mag 9.5 return pump, Skimz SK181 skimmer.

Thanks for looking.

Here's my 80 gal. It's not rimless but I love it. I painted the trim white with epoxy paint and the light will be painted to match. I will be upgrading soon to a 72x24x20 acrylic tank, similar dimensions but larger. The 80 Deep Blue is a great tank. You'll love it.

As for flow it's hard to say if that will work out or not until you try it. I always play around with flow in my tanks. I like to have several small powerheads hidden behind rock and blowing toward the rock and a couple of big ones for the main flow.

Spa that's really nice...I really like the white trim.

I'm hoping to make the the rockwork right down the middle of the tank and position both pumps so that they aim right down either side...SPS closest to the pumps for maximum flow and then transition to lower flow corals

sent from never never land...
