I like milleporas, but somehow could not get them to survive more than a few weeks in my tank it seems, except for this one. I don't even know what kind it is.
It always seems to me the acros with the larger polyps grow faster. For example the extreme ends of the spectrum I can say milleporas grow fairly fast and deepwater acros grow fairly slow....in general.
After looking back at the corals I've kept in the past, I think I'd have to agree with you. It does seem to follow that trend, in general.
64Ivy: I'm glad to see someone growing out some of DML08's Milli Madness. I'm not an Ol' Schooler, but if that's the Aquarium City Red, I'm quite a fan.
Sahin: I would have to agree with you, 100%!
d0ughb0y: That is a very interesting color combo. Do you have a pic of the whole colony. Great piece! Thanks for posting! It's odd that they don't typically seem to do well in your system.
The picture was taken early last month. The piece is mounted about one third of the way from the bottom of the tank [say, 20" from the light source] in moderate and random water flow. I'm thinking that slightly higher placement may bring out more color though.
By the way, originally it sat for several months before a sudden and inexplicable growth spurt occurred. All I did was leave it alone.
