lets see those long time maricultured/wild sps

Well all corals were wild at one point. Sorry had to point it out.

So I guess you are looking for 1st gen F1 SPS .....

How long do they have to be captive to qualify?

Here you go...This one is about six months. Maybe not old enough. Oh well.

What about the people who have had their corals spawn in their tank and successfully grew them?

yes 1st gen sps as u call them lol i would say 6 months or older is fine, or imo anything that lost its color and gained and has had a stable color for a period of 3 months or more. the reason i ask is cause whenever i get a maricultured piece they usually dull out from the color it has and usually stays with a solid color or 2. hardly ever do they stay the same as they come in.

haha....smart a$$.:spin2:

I always forget about the tank babies. In all seriousness I have heard of acropora spawning before but never any growth afterwords. Pocci on the other hand I have heard of spawning and successful babies.

But that is asexual reproduction, so not really 1st gen :spin3:

Leonardo

I meant 1st gen as in the first generation of captivity....unless now I'm confused?? haha

Ok...enough banter, I will play.

That's it really as I prefer aquacultured frags.

dvanacker when u got these were these the original colors of the sps, btw stunning corals i loe the A.caroliniana

dvanacker what is the name of the coral with the blue/purple tips next to the A.Coraliniana?
It looks very close to a frag i just got from the LFS that was all browned up but is now starting to grow the purple/blue tips in my tank. Mine came on an ORA plug so i just assumed it was an ORA purple tricolor based off the coloration?

I'll play along as well.... I've acquired this as a frag sometime end of year last year.... i wouldn't say it's brown, but it definitely didn't have the color it has now...
