Ive just started working on my power center - currently 6 sw. outlets are working from just 3 double outlets. i will have a total of 44 sw. single outlets from a total of 22 double outlets. i got the 6 ready rather quickly because im tired of all the electrical crap behind my tank. no i dont need 22 outlets under my tank either but i wanted the ability for expansion also. 11 are going under my tank and the rest are going up top in the canopy. i also am hacking my fans and running the speed controller to the power box and all my timers will be in there too. once its done all life support will be on a 10 amp cb and the rest will be on another 10 amp cb. one power leg is switchable and then feeds one side of the outlet and the other power leg goes to the cb's and then to the other side of the outlet. Each box of 3-4 double outlets have a daisy chained gound and then the grounds go into a grounding bar. if i add in a temp controller it will splice in between the switched power side. pic to come soon! i know this writing is probably useless babble as i just skim for pictures too, but maybe someone will understand what im typing. One third of the front of my stand will be my "electrical power box" so all i will have to do to controll any electrical aspect of my tank is open the door and flip a switch.
