Lets see your clams!!!

def'ly a crocea. that's why i questioned it. the circular parts of the pattern are similar to a crocea of mine, but yours is nicer.

the shell tells the story, though

maxima:the shell is more elongated front to back and shorter top to bottom, with pronounced scutes in tight rows all the way down to the base of the shell.
crocea: shell is more symmetrical (short front to back, high bottom to top). the shell can close completely and is relatively smooth, sometimes with scutes at the top edge of the shell.
look at the diff betw pic 3 the maxi and 4 crocea. the ridges tell it all.
btw join reef-geeks dot com. clammie experts there. bill has 24 i believe.
that's where the wording came from

T. maxima I just got today, my first one. I don't think I was ready for it but my mom told our LFS to bag him up. I told them about my lighting (T5 VHO) in a 20l and they said it would do ok. They have one maxima under t5 for about 3 months now.

Also, upgrading tanks and getting a 70 cube with MH lighting :D

Anyway, here it is!

Is there an online site most of your are purchasing your clams from?
Seems that all of my LFS are running low on clams as of lately, one guy even told me that there is some sort of clam disease that is effecting the wild and cultured clams and he doesn't forsee getting any for a while.
