I agree, it does think it's a Monti. That should turn into a beautiful piece once it decides to grow up. To me it's taking care of the hard part first, I can only hope mine looks like the ones in this thread. Your's looks to have kept the green color, which many seem to lose, nice work.
It looks like it's very close to blowing up...get ready!I've had several corals do that; some just love to encrust first. Once they have a solid base, they seem to grow much faster than some other corals that just grow up from the start.
Almost looks like a red pearlberry.

Mines the same exact way Peter. Drives me nuts. I'll have to snap a picture of it tomorrow. I feel like it's been giving me the finger for almost a year now.Mine simply continues to encust and encrust. No branching growth. At this point it looks like a monti :lol:
