antimatter-are you referring to my gobies? if so yes they are a pair with different coloration, the differences are faint but noticeable

Just2many-Thanks! they are easily my favorite fish, if i wasn't addicted to wrasses that is lol

I have a whitecap living with a tiger pistol and a yasha goby. Without a shrimp to pair with he did not seem to do well, met up with the shrimp within 2 minutes of being introduced to the tank and has been a total trooper for the last 7 months.

How much sand do you guys have? I'd so love a pair of these, but my sandbed is 3 inches at most and even more shallow in some areas. My clowns like playing "rearrange the sandbed".

That is so cool!!

Anyone have a diamond goby hosted?

To my understanding, diamond gobies don't host pistol shrimps because they are able to excavate their own homes. I have video of a pair of diamond gobies trying to attack a tiger pistol, but the shrimp is protected by his host goby... at least I hope I still have the video somewhere

I have a pair of yashia's with a candy cane pistol they share their burrow with a watchman. One of the most amazing relationships I've ever seen

not every day you see a magnificent goby. that is superb. i'm thinking of setting up my 9g again with a goby pair and/or pistol shrimp with lots of shrooms. and zoas. this will not be for awhile and you got me interested in that magnificent goby. how did you acquire him? (lfs, online, friend in the hobby) did he acclimate well?

Here was my pair, the red striped goby jumped out of the aquarium a week after this picture. The tiger pistol still lives, he is tiny probably a 3/8 of an inch long.

So I have a question about pairing. Got both my watchman and pistol shrimp this weekend. Arrived at the house in separate bags. Got them acculmated in the same bucket and seemed to be bonding. Put them in the tank let them be for the rest of the day. Came home and both were in the same spot so I'm thinking to myself, yes they are paired up. Well, wake up today and the watchman is out and about no where near the shrimp and I noticed the shrimp had moved. So the day goes on and still the watchman is just chilling on one side and the shrimp on the other.

My question is, is this normal in yalls experience? I know it's only been a day I just want other peoples stories.
