Nice, so you are the one that got the male from PIA?

I'm gonna ship my Johnsoni to get next week....I just got my Red Tail Flasher and Pink Margin today, will post up pics soon, my battery was dead when I tried :)

I did get him from PIA but this is a regular male not a terminal male. Im sure you will be seeing pics of one of the terminal males tomorrow when he arrives.

Mine is doing great though and is already eating pellets! Im time he should develop more of his colors!!! Maybe one day i can find him a female but hopefully the other female wrasses in the tank will assist him in developing his colors.

Awesome pickup of the Johnsoni. I'd still like to grab a pair but my fish budget is squashed for now and i've got about 8 wrasses in QT now so i need to get them through meds and into the display with all the other beautiful fish!

Nice. Would you mind sending me some info on the Prazi? Once I move to my bigger tank, I'm going to start quarantining fish, mostly cause the new tank (200 DD) will be full of expensive fish. I'll probably use either a 40B for quarantine, or maybe my current frag tank, a 2x2x1 covered.

PIA is pacific island Aquatics (not advertising for them!)

I currently have 3 QT tanks, a 20g, a 36g, and a 75 g.

All my fish go through 2 rounds of prazi and at least 3 weeks cupramine to make sure no velvet gets transfered to the tank.

You can order prazi from many places on the internet and some different methods to treat. p.s. i treat regardless of signs/ symptoms...

After the fish is eating good and comfortable in their new qT tank (around 1 week) i add 1/2 the dosage for the water volume and monitor the fish (and remove carbon) as long as there are no adverse effects 2 days later I add the other 1/2 again monitoring the fish. after an additional 5 days i do a 30%ish waterchange and add carbon (so 7 days total). I have had good results this way. Then for me, i wait another few days to let the fish recover from prazi and dose 1/2 of the cupramine treatment, and 2 days later the other half again monitoring the fish. nitrate and ammonia can get up there due to lack of carbon so keep an eye out for too much hiding and change in behavior. then after 2 weeks of cupramine i'll do the same treatment of prazi in addition to the cupramine in the water for a second 7 day prazi treatment and at the end i have finished my 3 week cupramine treatment. add carbon and waterchange and then let the fish recover for a few days, then in the acclimation container for a few days then out with the masses!

Again, this is how I do it, but be prepared to make mistakes and always have meds and extra water on hand.

Thanks a bunch for that. I'm going to be doing some research on this stuff before I start using it, of course. My tank has only been ordered, so I haven't even started to build a stand or anything yet.

The only other fish I plan to add to the current setup are the Johnsoni pair, and only because I've already paid for them.

I've purchased from PIA twice now and both times with rarer harder to keep fish and both times the fish have done great right out of the bag!
