Seriously, it is surprising how similar the coloration is. Ours was a female, turned male just as yours.

Wow, that is one handsome fish! I'd say you have more of the pinkish color coming through, which is pretty desirable. Even with the flash mine has that deep green and very interesting iridescent blue at the tail.

Those with linespot wrassee, how long did they take to start coming out? I have one that I got from DD and put in the tank on friday. Its sunday, and I can see its head move about in a cave, tail flapping the sand around, but have not seen it swim.

Whats the normal for them to stay hidden?

It all depends on it's tankmates. He will come out when he feels comfortable in his new surroundings. It could be a week or maybe even longer.

Shy at first is normal. How long it takes to get completly acclimated depends on the individual fish and its tank-mates. It could be days or weeks.

Did you QT it first?

Thanks. 1 B&W clown + 1 tailspot blenny. Its much bigger in size than my clown.

I saw it come out and as soon as it saw me, it freaked out and ran inside. So its healthy and well. :)

No QT. Unfortunately I do not have a spare tank. Since this is from diversden, they take good care with the fish in terms of diseases and stuff.

I always QT just to make sure that they have recovered from any shipping stress and that they are actively eating the foods that I feed. It gives them a head start before the competition in the display tank starts.

+1...even from DD...they have just gone thru ~18 hours of capture/bagging/boxing/shipping/handling/etc...STRESS... highly recommend QTing

I'd like to, however I don't have the space for a QT. Hoping I can more in the future. I"m done with fish for now anyways.

The wrasse started coming out to play little bit yesterday. Peeking and looking around. I spot fed its cave arctic pods when i turned my pumps off and made sure it ate. Should see it more in the coming days.

I snapped this picture using a long exposure, hence the crappy quality. Very beautiful fish

Cirrhilabrus pylei male while showing off for his female. It is pretty amazing to watch him try to court her every night for the past week. She hasn't went into his dug out yet though. Maybe tonight. here are a few photos of him with his wife, but not flashing. the photos above and below were all taken at the same time. He's a beast. I love him
