Seriously, it is surprising how similar the coloration is. Ours was a female, turned male just as yours.
I don't know if they are rare, uncommon yes, jealous, yes
It all depends on it's tankmates. He will come out when he feels comfortable in his new surroundings. It could be a week or maybe even longer.
Shy at first is normal. How long it takes to get completly acclimated depends on the individual fish and its tank-mates. It could be days or weeks.
Did you QT it first?
Thanks. 1 B&W clown + 1 tailspot blenny. Its much bigger in size than my clown.
I saw it come out and as soon as it saw me, it freaked out and ran inside. So its healthy and well.
No QT. Unfortunately I do not have a spare tank. Since this is from diversden, they take good care with the fish in terms of diseases and stuff.
+1...even from DD...they have just gone thru ~18 hours of capture/bagging/boxing/shipping/handling/etc...STRESS... highly recommend QTingI always QT just to make sure that they have recovered from any shipping stress and that they are actively eating the foods that I feed. It gives them a head start before the competition in the display tank starts.
