I really like Tridachia crispata and I have a few questions about it. I saw some that were a beautiful vivid blue color, but some were a dull coffee color. Do their colors change over time or are some just blue and some are just brown? They only eat algae? Are they safe with corals and clams? What, if any, fish will pick on them? How hard are they to maintain?

well if it said to do that then its probbably like alot of sea creatures, when they die they release toxins or depending on size of what died just the matter decay can cause your water peramiters to change to possibly crash your tank, but alot of things can do that depending on your tank size.

Tridachia have very short life spans in aquaria, about a year maximum. They feed by sucking out the cells in algae that have chloroplasts and use them themselves to get food via photosynthesis, or something similar to that, something that involves sucking things out of plants :D And they don't nuke your tanks by the way, only sometimes certain Nudibranchs, Sea Apples, and Cucumbers are known to do that.
