Those are beautiful photos. I didn't know they'd share an anemone in the wild. Really cool though. Thanks for the link!

Actually, this is the most common pairing according to one study in Michael's new book, occurring 65% of the time.

Which leaves me in a bit of a conundrum. I am a bit of a purist. I don't like any of these man made mutant hybrids or misbars, so, having one large female leuc, do I pair her with a chry, which seems to be the way nature intended them to be, or do what is aesthetically pleasing and pair her with her own (which, is partially what nature intended :p)?

How do you have all of yours paired Kris?

Great link btw.

(For those interested that don't have the book, here's the rest of the %'s: conspecific-20%, sandaracinos-20%, clarkii-20%, perideraion-15%, and rarely singly.)

I've owned three pairs in my life. I tinkered with the following pairings.
LxL
LxSandarcinos

Never LxC. The color and body type difference always scared me away. As well as the addition of another Brook magnet to my system.

Just to be clear I'm LeucLess atm. Cough Cough

[Help? Someone?]

From what I have read and seen in pictures, the more Chrysopterus genes the more likely it is to be the female in the pair. For example: Chys female x leuc male, Leuc female x sandaracino male, Chys female x sandarcinos male.

In your situation matching your female with a male sandaracinos would be my recommendation. However, leuc females can be difficult to pair. Mine was kind of nasty.

Anyone selling a Leuc? Trying to pair mine up. =)

Hey phender did you see all those carpets at fish collection. He got some huge ones. I'm trying to decide if i should take out my rbta and get a haddoni/gigantea instead.

I haven't been down in the last few weeks. Did he get some more in? I did get the turquoise gigantea that came in with the big red and blue haddonis a couple months ago. It is doing great at the moment.

I think the big red and blues are the ones that I'm talking about. They're in that one tank you see right when you walk in right?

Any pics of the turquoise gigantea? Post!

Phil that is an awsome looking carpet. It's a haddoni I assume. I saw a red haddoni today but it wasn't bright enough so decided to wait. Post more!

Did you see all those misbared Percula or Ocellaris. I did not think that there are that many misbared in the wild.

No its a gigantea. Its the only one that came in the shipment of red and blue haddonis.

Here is a pic from a month and a half ago. Two months after the previous pic.
It is even bigger now. Sorry that this thread has been hijacked a bit.

Looks awesome Phil...I wish the LFS around here would get in a decent anemone from time to time...living in the midwest is not conducive to finding healthy specimens of anything remotely sensitive.

Eggs are to the left, parents are both caps, male has full headbar.
