I didn't think to ask what kind of silicone was used, but since the sump was previously used in sw environs, I assumed everything was reef safe. At this point only time will tell.
As for the stand, I'm building one put of 2x4s. Although, I don't believe that any of the doom and gloom mentioned in this thread, I couldn't find an easy way to level it. Also, since I have experience building stands, I just decided to get $20 worth of 2x4s and build another one. The new one will be much easier to level with the shims I have.
