looking for neptune I/O breakout box. Willing to buy your extra or unused one. Please post price. I live in coral springs.

not really worth it IMO; I can buy one from BRS for $45 shipping incl. Just looking for better option before I order one :)

Dr.- When using a breakout box for float switches, is a PM module also necessary?

Yes, already have a bob under my tank. Looking to add one to my garage to add safety float valves/switches with my ATO and AWC systems. I have a PM2 that i'll be hooking it up to and a EB4 is already in my garage.

Eddie,

I have a breakout box hooked up to my main Apex unit.

The Apex and Apex lite do not require a PM module to hookup a breakout box. Apex Jr needs a PM module to hookup a breakout box.

OK so eb4 and breakout box in garage means you have to run ??? to the apex?

I want to also put a float switch in my AWC system on the SW bin so if it runs dry Apex will shut off AWC pump. But i dont know what to buy and what cables to run to the Apex.

Adam- where does it hook up to on Apex?

It is plugged into the I/O port on the apex base.

Excellent so all i need to run is float switch cables from garage to breakout box.

Sorry to derail Dr, but Adam13 s responses are the most reasonable ones ive gotten in one week of posting about this. Dr- do you agree with Adam13 since you are a Apex guru and addict?

I am only running switches within 10' of my tank. I didn't know you are running it to your garage.

I don't know the max switch lead lengths.

Hence my hope for an opinion from Dr. Thompson he is an Apex guru. That info i can also find from Neptune, but my biggest concern has been a need for a PM module. Running 2 little wires from garage is easy, running power cords is another story.

eddie, you have a breakout box?

Yes, you can just run the 2 wires for the float switch. It runs on low voltage and uses similar technology to a house alarm system, should be able to handle long runs.

I would use like 22g wire though.

I was going to hook up my pm2 to the eb4 in my garage, then hook up the breakout box to the pm2. I just ordered an 8pin minidin cable on ebay for $4, decided to make my own.
