And harlequins will eat them ....I didn't know that. The first tank we had came with a bunch of stars. We thought they were cool - didn't know any better...

My 75g that I am about to sell was filled with asterina stars. For some reason I thought that these guys only fed on the blue linkia. I know this isnt true.
Had I known sooner, I would have had one of these...not to kill stars, but just because of how awesome they are!

I've had one since February and I still have asterinas...not sure why. I've heard that they decimate an asterina population in a matter of weeks.

They can be. Ive had problems with em munching on zoa's, they dont kill them usually but aggrivate them pretty bad. They also reproduce to the point they look ugly. Johnie let me know if you want to do a group buy on Harlequins and Ill split some shipping with you.:thumbsup:

I've been pulling them out for months, still get one or two a day. Started with a 100+ a day, then 10-20 it will never end. Johnny if the Harlequins work lmk, I'll do that too.
Goose, the stars will attack Acro's too, . Most people don't notice because they just kill spots and a healthy coral will regrow fast. They multiply faster then rats and it just takes one to start it all over again.

Ya I saw them there a couple weeks ago when I went to phx. I really only want one lol. I don't think they would split them up. If anyone wants one to split, Ill hop on my bike and ride to RC and get them.you can pay for shipping. (Gas for my bike) lol
We could get by a little cheaper if you ride a bicycle. Get one and we'll pass it around, it sounds like we all got the little suckers. First one to kill it pays for it.:lol2:

If they work? I know they eat chocolate chip star feet, don't know about asternias, if they do, price is not that big a deal. SEA or SW can't get them? I think I'm going to Phoenix Wed. to pick up some Heli parts, might check if locals can't get them. Got back into Heli's, man have they come a long way since they last time I flew them. Letting the Reef go again, but not like last time.

Guys, many asterina's dont do any harm.
Make sure that your petstore will either take the harlequin back, you have another hobbyist to pass it on/sell it to, or that you can provide it with starfish on a weekly basis.
Very few accounts of these guys surviving on just asterinas for more than a week as is pointed out earlier.
