I got a little 5G tank to start up again, hoping to collect algae again.

If I remember right, I sold / gave away a bit of Macroalgae when I was breaking my 150G down. Does anyone still have any that they'd like to sell or trade me?

Looking for

- DragonBreath
- Ochtodes (2 varieties)
- Red Kelp
- Violet algae
- Any other really.

Haha you beat me to it kataro. I was going to ask if anyone still had any of the macro you got rid of, especially the ochtodes and dragonbreath
 
I can probably spare a little bit of my violet stuff, but it won't be very much. You'll have to wait until next week when I am done with my finals...

Does anyone in the valley still got living specimen of my algae?

Looking for those blue ochtodes again.
 
When I was in Reef Monsters this morning they got a shipment of some type of macro in - it wasn't dragons breath so I didn't pay attention (lol!) but worth a call.

Also, I've seen blue ochtodes at AquaTouch in their Seahorse ADA Display (the one on the counter) I asked about it but they said they only sell it when it overgrows. Looked really nice though.

I've been looking for this macro actually! Let me know when you decide to frag it. It's a coldwater algae from what I've learned, won't do so well in warmer temperature (or atleast not grow correctly / not as fast)

I have some of the red smooth leaf kelp on a rock. Had it for a long time. psid a pretty penny for it. Currently not very much of it though. For a while it looked like it was going to die ( bunch o' my macros a few months back decided to all disintegrate), but then it came back, but my turbo like to munch on the tasty new growth.

I love the blue ochtodes, but never been able to keep it long. Have gotten it a couple times from aquatouch.
 
Yea I don't think a lot of people have luck with the smooth kelp leaf, it's a coldwater species. So it never really grows right in a regular tank and very slow if it grows at all.

The only success I've seen with the red kelp was Reef Culture, and I think it's because they kept their tank relatively cool.

Ochtode grew like weed for me in my 150G! I had trouble getting rid of it all.
 
How was the flow in your SH tank?

I remember I had 2 variety of Ochtodes in my 150G.. Looking for the compact version

I know you're looking for your old strains but Aquatouch had some blue ochtodes (not an expert, however, I'm pretty sure that's what it was) in their sea horse tank at the front. No idea if they're selling it but might be worth giving them a call if you can't track it down from another source.
