LF New ato, opinions?

If you already use an apex the avast marine ato with an aqualifter pump is excellent. I had mine since I started my system without problem. It uses air pressure not a float valve as a sensor.

I have the JBJ ATO for a year and like it. I used the aqualift pump but it was too weak for my 125g since it evaporates about 4g a day and the pump couldnt keep up with it so I just got a Rio 50 pump and used the valuve they have to lower down the water pressure to half so its not a lot of freshwater going into my sump.

imho: the best: tunze osmolator, second: elos osmocontroller.
nothing compares to these two, unless its a optical sensor, which i don't know of any other ato that uses this.
I've used everything on the market, jbj, avast (currently own but using on waste container), hydor smart, older elos with float valve, diy, etc...
nothing comes close. but for what we need, i think they work fine.
only reason why i sold my tunze is because i'm going to use the same type of sensor on my Profilux for ago, which i think will be just as good.

And the tunze comes with a pump already, not too powerful but not weak either, imo perfect for ato, may be a little to strong for small tanks 40g below. And it's just $20 if u ever have to replace it.
I guarantee if u go tunze osmolator, you'll never want another unit unless it uses same type of sensor and it's integrated into your main controller (ghl profilux). Now if only neptunes makes such a sensor, it'll be the next big thing for all apex owners.

Tunze is by far the best for an all in one setup. I use the JBJ but am looking at going to the auto aqua with the apex. Although with the new system I am building I will be using a Tunze plugged into the eb8 on the apex in order to kill power to it if salinity drops. Not a fan of single point failures.

The apex or even the ac jr has an I/O connector to control the sensor and the outlet turning the ato pump on. An aqua lifter can be purchased locally in most lfs. I have 3 of them in stock because they are so cheap. A no brainer for me especially when I wanted to take advantage of the apex controller.

Sounds like not a lot of people have Reef Angel controllers if you do the ATO sold by Reef Angel has worked flawlessly for me for over a year.

I run the avast ato (non reef controller) I like it. I have a maxi jet pump pushing my water through. No issues here and its been in service for 2+ years

Uh oh. I purchased but have yet to connect a SpectraPure LLC-UPLC-II. I didn't see anyone recommend this, did I choose poorly?
