LF: Protein Skimmer for 300g

Anyone have a skimmer rated for 300 gallon+ for sale? I have tried reef octopus ds 250 and Bubble Magus Curve 9. The Reef Octopus DCS pump failed (twice) in less then a day and the Bubble Magus was very (Very) loud. Wanted to get a Aquamaxx EM-300 but there are on back order for weeks. I am running an older euro reef es 6-2+ (With Sedra5000) skimmer I wanted to sell. I missed out on a good deal recently for a super reef octopus 5000 member had for sale do to waiting on vendor exchange.

I am also space limited in hight. Up to 26"

If you find one I am looking for the same. setting up a 275g and will have about the same height problem. I am thinking 30" but shorter is better. Looking for a Itech 400 if I can find it. Good luck with your search. Seems like nothing under 500$

Look at the JNS SK3 (same company as the Aquamaxx Cone 3). I run the SK2 and it is hands down the best skimmer I have run (I have had a slew of different skimmers over the past 25 years). Dead quiet and I believe only 23 tall (if you can set on bottom of your sump and get 9" of water). Runs Sicce 3.0 pump. It is a modified cone skimmer and other than the bubble plate the same as the Aquamaxx C0-3 that is hard to get as well. All the above made by the same company as the EM-300. The EM foot print is smaller as the pump is below the unit .... that is a big plus for the EM although!

JNS/Aquamaxx make a good balanced skimmer for sure ... that's why they are hard to get I guess, but pretty sure you can find the JNS skimmers in stock.

Look into Lifereef skimmers , They are old school but mine out performs all the needle wheels I've had. Prices are reasonable and customer service is awesome.

Not to bad, But I'm hard of hearing. lol It's even in my bedroom. They come in different sizes. You can also use in sump. Depends on the pump you choose for quietness. I have the 48" model.

Going to give either Octopus Prime 200 Internal Skimmer or E-shopps s-300 a try. I think I am done trying Reef Oct DC pumps for now. Still want to keep looking for higher end skimmer for 300+ plus for a future new setup.
