LFS in Orange county

I'm going to be in Orange county next week and need some good advice on where to go. I have heard of a few and all seem to be pretty close to one another, reefcollection.com, coral oasis, and Tong's. Anywhere else that is a must? Also we plan on going to the Long Beach Aquarium.

Thanks,
Ryan

Your going to like the LB Aquarium!
Most of the good LFS are in OC, and like you say, fairly close together off of the 405.

I looked up the MASLAC website last night. I would go to your meeting but unfortunatly I won't be in town that day. So would you say that those are the ones to hit for sure. Jeff's Exotic Fish sponsers your website. Is that close to where I will be. Are there any others that sponser you guys? Also, would you recommend the behind the scenes tour at the LB Aquarium? Is it worth the extra ten bucks. I'm from Utah and want to get somethings that maybe I can't get up here, so let me know.

Jeff's is not to far up the 405 either, easy to get to but hard to spot. You should call Reefer Madness and see if you can swing by there also, not to far from Jeff's and is a must see too.
Personally, I would take the tour if you have never been to a large public aquarium before, and ask to be shown the reef tank, it's not part of the tour, but they will let you check it out!

Jeffs is off the 55 north. Easy to get to from coral oasis.

Through the effort of myself, Eric, and my gf Jyssica both systems at Jeffs in Orange are now clean, and flatworm free. Also, there will be a large sale this weekend.

Tong's in Fountain Valley gets new shippment of corals on Mondays-Wednesdays. Jeff's in Costa Mesa gets new corals on Thuesdays and Thursday. I drop by these places a couple times a week and they have some nice corals but a lil pricey.

Tongs sure has allot of selection, check out their displays in the back of the store. The have 3 tanks back there now and a sps frag tank to the side, I always take a moment and just stare into these.

Coral Oasis is great! They have great pricing and are always very helpful, great selection of blastos! These guys are hobbyists, for hobbyists.

Jeff's is a good all around, quality of livestock is usually high but usually nothing really special.

If you can only visit one I say hit Tong's, be sure to check out their frag tanks some good deals in there.

There's also New Wave TF off Katella.

THERE'S a misser. I live a few blocks away and won't go in the place since the owner got furious when I asked him if the $39.99 sticker on a Maxi-Jet 1200 was wrong. I never bought anything there anyway, but I really did think he had mislabelled it.

Tong's for eye candy, Reef Collection for fresh imports, Pacific Reef for a nice all-around shop (and cheap JBJ stuff), Coral Oasis for a shop that caters to serious hobbiests, and Jeff's in Orange or Costa Mesa for good measure. That's a nice afternoon of shopping -- but I wouldn't skip the Long Beach Aquarium for it!
