well that is a bummer...anything worth checking out at all around there...i have gone to the atlantis aquarium and that was awsome. just wondering if there are any other attractions around...thanks

There's always the Wineries, and of course the beaches :D

When are you coming out this way?

To night...lol... we have a family summer house in the hampton bays area and i just started going back out there for the summers ( just started a family, 1 year old daughter) and the last time down we had taking a trip to the aquarium in river head and now we are looking to do something else fun to do...maybe we'll have to map out some wineries. thanks bill.

Your daughter might enjoy Suffolk County Fish and Reef. It's Exit 59 South off the Expwy, about 1/2 mile on the right just before the RR tracks.

It has 5,000 gallons or so on display.

humm, we might stop by, sounds nice...i was wondering if there was much to do out in montauk??

When was the last time you were there? The tank has matured greatly lately, and we have some new displays depending on when you were here last.
Just thought I'd ask.
Also, the tank looks better AFTER the winery tour...

i was up there in the begining of the summer and it looked fantastic....my family and i had taken the behind the scenes tour and it was great very nice set ups you have there...i was wondering if you guys were ever going to have a behind the scenes for the reef tank?? i was also thinking of putting on a trip for our local reef club and was wondering when you guys close for the winter??

They are open all year. Joe likes showing off his reef, so I'm sure you can arrange that tour ;)

We don't do behind the scenes tour of the tank for the general public because the area was not designed to handle groups of people, but I certainly make arrangements for fellow coralaholics, and we can arrange group pricing rates for clubs, etc .
We only close on Christmas day so let me know and I'd be glad to arrange a group tour.
Let it be known though that there are coral detectors on every door in the place, so don't even think of making any frags :)

lol...ill have to talk to the group and get some dates...ill let it be known about the alarms...lol... thanks and ill be getting back to you soon...

Not only does he have coral detectors at the doors, but those sweet little Harbor Seals at the entrance are also highly trained security seals.
