LFS near Mechanicsburg?

Are there any good LFS that specialize in Salt around Mechanicsburg? I see That Fish Place is down in Lancaster but Google Maps say thats 1hr drive. That kinda put me off on the hobby before, 2hrs of driving just to go to a good salt store was a pain.

Any suggestions?

That is about it. I think there may be one at the end of Derry St. in Harrisburg, not sure about it though. Most of us make the trip to TFP. There was a shop not too long ago, but they closed down, it was beside the Suzuki shop on Trindle rd. You can always order online, shipping is a pain($), but you could group buy or something to offset some of the extra charge.

The store that Matt is referring too is Zootopia Petz on Derry Street. I would give two thumbs down to this store for saltwater. They do offer other items. I had never been there so I thought I would take a look over lunch. The 90 gallon corner show tank is full of green algae and the skimmer was not working. The tanks had a nice selection of aiptasia. I would not buy livestock there or feel a need to go back.

Your best bet is to trade with local hobbyist and mail order supplies. TFP is okay but if you can get free and reduced shipping from online stores , no tax, it makes the trip to Lancaster less attractive.

There is a nice store on the North Side of Chambersburg on Route 11 called Franklin Pet. He has some nice stuff from time to time and when Scott is available, he is very knowledgeable.

^^ Agree with reggiepe but i think the store is called franklin feed.. they usually have a good variety of stuff at good prices.

LOL...yeah the one on Derry Street...not so good! We live in Hershey and either go to that fish place which is 20 minutes for us or there are one or two towards Allentown. Also one off Rt. 22 that has a very small section of saltwater fish and corals, but nothing great. Honestly, other then supplies i've gotten everything i've needed fish and coral wise through my local reef club I belong to.

Two thumbs up to the local hobbiest. Post if you have a need or want for something and I bet your will find better frags for less money from captive stock. win win win.
